How to install chroma caps? I want to get my glow on!
The new glow in the dark faders look so sick, but before I buy them I just want to know how easy it is to install. Is it just something you put over your original fader? I have a traktor s2 and I don’t remember reading anywhere that the knobs and faders can be removed. If it’s really simple I have my credit card right here and am ready to do work!
Very simple. You take the old ones off first. Put a piece of paper on the S2 under the knob/fader you want to remove (to protect the unit from scratches). Then take a flat head screwdriver (or even a butter knife) and slide it under the knob. Gently “wiggle” the cap off with the screwdriver. Put the new knob on. Done!
The knob+fader caps come off my S4 by hand without too much effort so you could try that before taking a screwdriver near your gear.
Thanks everyone! I figured out how to wiggle the knobs and faders off. I was scared I was going to break it, but it wasn’t too hard. I can’t wait to try out my new glow faders!
use a quarter or silver dollar…you don’t want to scratch your hardware.
You shouldn’t need any tool to get them off. Just grab with your thumb and your index on the ends and pull up with even strength
I wouldn’t even use a coin, safest way is to use strips of paper.
All the knobs on NI gear come off easy as pie, a little too easy sometimes.
