How to map Ean's new FX trick to the F1?

How to map Ean’s new FX trick to the F1?

Since the F1’s native mapping is closed how is it possible to map Ean’s new Remix mapping to the F1?

you mean the effects? you can put the F1 into midi mode and map the $hit out of it..

He means using the HID remix deck mapping, but at the same time mapping a midi command to that same button to initiate an effect. As far as I know it’s not possible. Maybe with one of the hacks used to enable remix deck control with other controllers. How ironic would that be though?

Like all native mapping, recreate all that is happening on the couple hardware/software to get a consistent and error proof system of modifiers that would duplicate the behaviour of Traktor and the F1 and add a user mapping. That’s the theory.
I don’t have a F1 so I can’t tell you if that’s actually doable ^^

My F1 will be here Friday so I’ll play around and see what happens.

Since you can’t map the lower 3 rows of the Mix Decks in Traktor, you can’t map Ean’s Mix Deck FX mapping on the F1 in midi mode. Ean makes it a point to note the MF3d is the ONLY controller that works with HID and midi simultaneously. The F1 can’t do that either.

Do you think this is something that NI could add this kind of functionality with a firmware update to the F1?

Unfortunately, I don’t know. I think NI could actually do something better and that is have “mini-maps” to each Mix Deck cell. With a mini-map, whenever you press the button related to that cell to play it, it also triggers the mini-map and whatever you’ve mapped to it. (like an effect or two.) That way the mapping is relative to the cell and not the controller, opening up another world of possibilities in Traktor with the Mix Decks.

It’s very easy! Just add in the controller manager a f1 USER mapping. Now you can map whatever you want (like effects).
The user mapping runs on top of the default mapping. Midi is not necessary.

How i use the f1: i use the default mapping and a user mapping simultaneously for triggering samples and effects for the samples. When i switch with the shift + browse buttons to my midi mapping i have an selfmade instant gratification mapping.

so you can do more with the f1 than with the midi fighter 3d!

(sorry for my bad english)

yep, I did this yesterday, but forgot to post here  I did a test where I killed the bass on deck A when I pressed and held pad 1 and let the default F1 HID mapping launch that remix slot.

can you be so cute and share this mapping

ok, in one or two days i will upload my midi mapping inclusive my .nckf1 file.
(the .nckf1 file is for the f1 pad colours in this midi mapping and have to be load in the controller editor)

Doh! I should have known that was possible, as my S4 FX Jogs mapping runs on that same principle. Thanks for the correction.

Does your mapping load the specific fx when you hit a pad, or do I need to set up the fx first?

the mapping loads specific effects. its very similar with the djtt instant gratification mapping.

but i think we should use pm or the comments in my mapping in the midi maps section
