How to mix Minimal Techno?
How do people like Richie Hawtin mix minimal techno house? Is it through Ableton Live?

I believe Hawtin uses Traktor / Xone 92 / Ableton / Maschine / Other shit.
Depends on how far you want to take it… generally Traktor will be decent enough dj software. Whether you want to add daw effects, loops and samples from ableton, or live sounds etc… is upto you
Usually either on traktor or CDJs. You can mix it on whatever DJ software/format you like.
He uses two X’2 for Traktor and Maschine in Ableton. Although, i think he got some knobs on one of X1’s mapped in the Ableton for effects too.
I think so too. His delays don’t sound like the ones available in Traktor

No, you can’t. I know what you mean, but that way sounds like shit. Or I am doing it wrong. What values do you use for feedback and rate?
Closest I could get is using Tape delay in traktor:
From sound of it I’m pretty sure Richie is using that one mate.
How does Richie split the songs up? when he adds different elements is it from a sample pack or something?

He loops parts of other tracks on different track decks. Most of the time he has 2 or more things running. This could vary from a set of snares to a single kickdrum.
So he plays lots of different tracks (looped) at different intervals, blending them all into each other to create one big mix?

Yeah indeed, but that was already given. In this video you see the complete set up. You can also see a lot of loops going, and that he is using 2 X1’s. (And Maschine of course)

Not really. He does some looping but his sets are by no means composed of mostly loops.
Any time threads/posts come up about richie hawtin’s DJ style I feel like there are always a lot of misconceptions and for some reason people think he always loops and uses 3-4 decks plus maschine way more than he actually does.
He does do a good bit of relatively standard 2 deck mixing which accounts for quite a bit of his sets.
So Maschine is used for the drums? Whats a sequencer?
