How to Remember that Track on the Radio

How to Remember that Track on the Radio

I’m often driving and hear a song that I want to remember but im driving and can’t write it down. (I guess you could if it was that good) Today while I was driving i realized that my Incredible 2 has an app that tells me what song is playing (Sound Hound) and it also saves all songs. I thought I would share this wisdom.

i keep a small notebook and pen by the emergency brake and do in fact write down songs i hear that i want to look into more.

the trick is to use the force and write without looking at the page, and it actually comes out more legible than youd think.

shazam if you have an Iphone, possible others

What’s really scary/sad is you’re taking song recommendations from the radio

+1

And i find stuff on the radio ofter.

You would, and it shows.

So shazam or soundhound? People say soundhound is better but I had shazam a year ago and it found more tracks than sound hound does for me.

who listens to the radio these days? unless it’s K-Earth 101…

the only stations i listen to these days are the ones in my sig and some shows on kevin smith’s smodcast

+1 on Shazam - sometimes trips over on odd remixes, but it’s amazing some of the stuff it does get

Nice open mind you have there - in the UK at least you can still pick up the odd diamond in the rough on the radio.

You really have turned into one of the most remarkably negative people on here - I reckon 90% of the posts I see from you are bashing someone - have you really got that little going on in your life that you are forced to get your kicks belittling others?

I cannot say how much I despise radio programming these days…just horrible.
Soundhound is an ace app, though. Shazam never IDed anything for me, but Soundhound regularly impresses me.

radio is an AWESOME tool for digging.

yeah, skip the top40 stations obviously (unless that’s your deal). but you can catch awesome stuff on some of the smaller local stations, classic rock, jazz, blues, edm, experimental, hiphop you name it.

have discovered countless pieces of gold in my collection by listening to the radio and watching tv. you don’t get deep eclectic crates without keeping your ears open to everything out there.

anyways i usually just try to remember a piece of the lyrics or the title so i can google it later to find the song. if i have a pen handy i’ll write it down.

College radio is always a good place to find good tunes. And I can’t shazam while I’m playing RinseFM on my iphone so a pen and pad has to work.

jay mohrssss

who listenes to radio anymore exept fo sirius/xm 105/206 the opie and anthony show from 6-10 and the shit hour 10-11 with prime time sam roberts

in the UK you can often ‘Listen again’ to shows that were on, don’t know what its like in the states, more often than not they have a playlist aswell, day time radio is dog muck over here, but the night shows are pretty good

I Shazam that shizzle then buy it there and then through the app on itunes

Soundhound - no contest.
