I just wanted to share that I AM REALLY PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW.
Yesterday some very excited guy called me up and asked if he could come at 16h today to look at and probably buy my mixdeck that is for sale.
It was for his birthday he said.
So, even though I have my exams this week, and am studying at my university all day, I took an hour off to go home and present the mixdeck quite well and clean my desk a little and such things. Small things that might have helped sell it.
At 16h, the guy isn’t here. So I call him, thinking I should ask him if he can find the way.
This is when he says: “Oh yeah sorry, actually I’m not coming anymore because I have financial problems”.
I mean, call me to cancel the appointment, AT LEAST !
And how can you have financial problems now, that weren’t there yesterday evening ?
So now I just lost precious time I could have spent studying, on something useless.
Well, at least I cleaned my desk. That’s something.
Sometimes things like this happen. People aren’t very considerate either, but if it means anything, I’d be pissed if I were in your position as well. Don’t let it get to you and keep pushing on! =]
something like this happened to me
some guy was selling a pair of technics "1210"s - he said extremely good condition and well kept etc,
when i came over to his place (which was 2 hours away by the way) what i saw was a pair of very badly painted 1200 mk2’s in very bad condition - painted black, i told him man these are 1200s painted black (with a very nasty paint job) and he insisted these are 1210s and have never been painted (Are you serious? i can see the paint peeling off)
the paint job was sooo bad and the lights was not functioning, totally wasted my time
i can sense the guy was trying to rip people off so I left
he offered me his “industry standard stanton needles” for free on top and I just laughed and left
Another thing, with the money he was supposed to pay, I was going to fund my new equipment. Which I was getting all excited for, because I hoped I could order it tonight …
Dealing with craigslist (or any form of selling for that matter) there is always the play of people just sucking. I take it with stride though, because karma comes full circle.
One time I was about to go buy a CAR off someone on craigslist. It was 2 hours away, and I had a friend with me and cash in hand. We were having trouble finding his house, and apparently he sold it 15 minutes before we got there, even though I had been on the phone with him all day talking to him about getting down there.
Ugh. Situations like these just make my blood boil.
Feel for you mate, I’ve waited at the unit many times for a hire only to call them to check where they are only to be told ‘’ oh we dont need any more sorry ‘’
I have been dealing with this a lot lately. I am in the middle of selling off a lot of extra stuff I have collected over the years. My best advice is to make buyers work around your schedule. There are a lot of flakes out there and if someone wants it they will show up and buy it when you are available.
Thats why I only buy and sell DJ equipment thru this forum. All transactions both buying and selling have come perfectly. I swear next time I’ll be adding some free stuff.
it’s really annoying indeed, same sort of thing happened to us..
we were booked in Rio de Janeiro, for next saturday, but it was fake.. they just wanted money from us
