i bought a broken mixer smh

welp, blinded by the price of a used xone db2, i pretty much rushed over to his house the second i found it locally. i pretty much had my heart set on taking this mixer home before seeing it. admittedly, i didnt touch ALL the buttons but the guy who sold it to me did and i watched them all light up and it seemed okay. there was a hiss coming out of one of the speakers, he claimed was a ‘ground loop issue’ i didnt think anything of it. So I took it home for $400. After a couple days of mixing, the hiss is still in one of the outputs, the buttons work if you push down hard enough and it might take a few tries, and im having soundcard issues. Im trying to record a mix with audacity and its only recording for about 4 seconds on only 1 deck (ive tried new cables and usb ports with same issue). so get it out of your system first and foremost. I AM A SCRUB FOR THIS. Now that thats out of the way, 1. is this worth fixing? 2. if yes, I’m pretty lost on how to find someone that CAN repair it. I can’t help to think a brand new mixer is going to be cheaper in the long run. I still have my old djm600 i wanted to flip to fix the db2 but its looking like i should keep it around on the off chance i need a gig mixer. tips? advice? childish name calling?

Is the guy not willing to refund you? It seems like ya got ripped off meng.

Otherwise, contact A&H directly. Dont state that you bought it used. Just give the information that is exactly wrong with the mixer and see what they say.

honestly i bought it 2 months ago. i was able to live with the speaker hiss and the buttons possibly fixing those myself but i just found out about the soundcard issues :disappointed: i haven’t contacted him yet

At this point, its kind of mute to contact him. But, A&H are pretty responsive.

Or take it for a service…

alright so here’s an update. i contacted a&h support and they sent me a list of local certified repair shops. i took it to the shop, paid the $80 deposit for diagnosis and just got the phone call about the repairs…$360 to replace every button on it’s face…needless to say I’m not paying that. i am not paying almost half of a brand new mixer to repair one that has been apparently raped. so… now what? sell a broken mixer for pennies? should i contact a&h again to see if there is another option? the manual says that it only has a 1 year limited warrenty so i figure they might charge me a similar fee. this is really upsetting :disappointed: i want to use it so friggin bad and throw my DJM600 in the trash already.

How much did you pay for the mixer?
