I built DARAVE - automatic DJ transitions, looking for feedback

Hi everyone. I just released DARAVE, a Windows tool I’ve been building for DJs. It analyzes your tracks and automatically finds potential transitions, so you don’t have to manually dig through your library. You can preview the suggested transitions and use them to build a set. Basic version is free, everything runs locally, and your music isn’t uploaded anywhere. I only launched it a few days ago, so right now I’m mainly looking for DJs who are willing to give it a real try and tell me what works and what doesn’t. Did it find transitions you’d actually use? Was anything confusing or annoying? What would make you want to use something like this regularly?

Since I already posted the basic overview, here’s a deeper look at how DARAVE actually handles analysis and mapping. It’s not standard key/BPM matching, and a few things work differently under the hood.

• The grid is recalculated at the start of every transition, not per track.
• Phrase points and length are derived from track structure: events per minute, kick change, snare roll, bass entry, breakdown. Vocals are tracked as a separate layer.
• Genre detection works reliably for techno, house, trance, hip hop, big room, dubstep, DnB, pop, disco, funk, industrial, and metal. However, genre is no longer used as an analysis parameter.
• For techno, house and trance, matching isn’t based on transitions but on rise or fall inside the build, so they follow different mixing logic.
• Keys and BPM are no longer combined by +0/+2 or sync with pitch. It works in cents, recalculating keys against the BPM offset. Every transition is its own grid, and BPM is measured from the snare inside that transition.
• In practice, this means you should rely even less on Camelot, BPM and energy values when mixing.
• Panning is added for unison cases, where two similar sources conflict and cause phasing artifacts.
• Double vocals in unison are split: back vocal stays on the outgoing track, front vocal goes to the incoming one, regardless of the mixing technique or direct frequency conflict.

You’ll want to add an english translation at the very least to the site (haven’t tried the app). Most of the forum users don’t speak russian.
