On deck A&B I have a single row of deck info from left to right:
Title - Key - Stable BPM
I found that by using only one row of info you get a nice chunky waveform and with a 13" MB, screen real estate is crucial lol. I chose not to have an elapsed/remaining clock as I found myself staring at it to time my mix/transitions. I now just either know/feel the music or reference a minute marker.
The sample deck(s), fx for 3&4 and all fx assignments for all deacks are all controlled by the X1 w/ Hetchbends Mapping (.1 & .2 are in the bible) Great mapping btw. Might change decks C&D to micro since i can reference everything on the X1… well see.
My goals were to have as much of Traktor available (at least its most basic functions) to me with out having to touch the laptop at all, focus more on the deck and ppl (well no one but the wall in my room for now)… I also want to be able to also spin on other platforms, so i think this is a good setup to be able to make that transition, if ever need be.
I have effects 1 and 2 up. And my decks C and D are micro. The rest is like your…as little as possible. I prefer to have less on the screen and focus on the track/wave the rest of the stuff on the screen just gets in my way. I can stare at hardware for that info.
@ Shane & theory28 - having updated to TP2, its great to see the old V1 again. Have them both installed and keep on threatening to go back. Soooooooooooo much to learn on TP2/S4 that I am yet to do so.
@ MrPopInJay - my tag field in 1.2.7 also ‘greyed out’ once I’d deleted all the tags I don’t use (using PC)
