I finally own a pioneer

I finally own a pioneer

Hello! Im a long time reader 1st time poster,

I have just purchased a Pioneer DJM - T1 :tada: I paid just under £500 as I fortunately had a friend in a DJ shop in London so managed to save a few squid but then spent what i saved and a fair bit more on Vinyl anyway!

I have had around 5 hours of play time on this set up and so far i am in love. I am new to traktor but I am finding it very satisfying to use and i think this is magnified due to the certification and compatibility of the Pioneer. Its working for me as i have a bit of vinyl and enjoy having the ability to flip between digital and vinyl with the switch of one button.

After going through almost the entire set up forum at work on Sunday (v.quiet shift) I have found lots more ways to break my bank. I see a lot of people with extra controls on their setups and i think that may be the next step for me, try and get some sort of midi control to play with drum samples and the like!
Let me know your thoughts and any improvements you would make!

Happy mixing,

Jacques

Nice buy! And great way of spending your first post.

I own a midi fighter for finger drumming and it works great!

Congrats on the purchase… always nice to get your hands on shiny new kit; especially something like that

Ha yea im pretty happy with it there is no hiding that !

@samplectro - Yea i have checked out the midi fighters and love the look of them, especially some of the new ones that are available. what program do you run it through, Traktor? and do you have a large sample library or just sample from tracks on the fly?

@ThinAir How are you getting on the bery ddm4000? that was going to be my purchase but once i looked into soundcards and the like it worked out a similar price to the pioneer but read a lot of good things about it

ha yea im pretty damn happy with it

@samplectro yea i checked out some of the midi fighters and really like the look of them especially the new ones. what software do you run it through, Traktor?

@ThinAir thanks man, what are your thought on the Berry DDM4000 as that was originally my 1st choice but once i paid out for a soundcard it would of been a similar price to the pioneer anyway. I read lots of good things about it though

Looks nice! Vestax and a T1.. Nice combination mate!

im droolin on the t-1… haha are you using it on timecode vinyls? cause i heard that you had to mix internal mode and if thats true im not down with at all

No need for internal mixing with the T1. External all the way.

Sweet set up dude. I’d simply buy a midifighter if you are looking for some extra buttons. If you feel you need some encodes and extra pots then take a look at the X1 or the new Behringer gear that’s being released.

I have the T1 and a midifighter and they work great.

yep external all the way. its so satisfying to use with traktor i just need a few more hours on it to focus on cracking the sample banks and then i will be flying!

So guys thanks for the advice - Really thinking about the midi fighter as my next purchase, my house mate produces as well so we are thinking of going halves on payday

@Liambo Vestax? if your talking about my decks they are only Kams (said in a whisper) i would love to upgrade soon but for the time being they are doing alright!

nice one

(bossed up your pics mate)

Like a BawZe!

peanut m & m’s … homer drool

Hehehehe… d0hnuts!

I don’t see Vestax there. Those are Kam branded OEM decks.
