not that i know of.
well said.
no it cannot be done
I pretty sure it can be. The Numark Mixdeck has an iPod Dock that I can be used for this purpose, and it’s just setting up specific recording software.
How well it works? I have no idea.
But I’m pretty sure it CAN be done.
^ how would u record in an ipod? i mean it doesnt have any software on it to hit record in, unless u do the voice memo on an iphone
Yes it can be done. You can use a mini AV to 3.5 mm cable and I believe the yellow has the mic input so You would connect yellow to your mixer the other end to your iPhone. It’s not stereo though.
This will give stereo sound which I believe the way above will not.
This has a line input and you may be able to record crowd noise at the same time. If it recorded that on a separate track that would be ideal, but I haven’t really researched that.

In depth discussion on using the iPhone/iPod/iPad as a recording device
^ thanks for the info
You could do it on the older ones…not sure about recent. But, getting that functionality required hacking them to run Linux. They had the converters, just not software to do the recording. It was probably cheaper to produce them that way somehow.
IHNFC if they still have the converters or if there are pre-built linux distros for them…but I’m sure you can find out with some creative googling.
Regardless, there are other devices that work at least as well…M-Audio at least used to make one, and GC was having a sale on another one not too long ago.
wouldn’t be asking otherwise if i hadn’t already done that![]()
,
But I see where this is going that it would record a mic input rather than a line, I’ve seen similar tech for guitars like the i rig but i guess this would be a phono style of signal recorded dame as a mic?

Alesis ProTrack:

I’ve used both and they work just fine. Though nowadays, for what the Alesis costs, I’d get a Zoom H2 (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/H2/) or H4 and have higher-quality inputs and quieter noise floor.
just an update the I rig Seems to a valid option to record on to a i phone ipad or touch using various multi track studio apps so the only way to see if it gonna work is to get 1 to see if it works but the floors seem to be that it i may only be able to record mono after delving deeper 2nd gen and 3rd gen ipods can record line in at various bit rates but way apple got rid if this was a bit of a bad move me thinks will let you know how the experiment progresses![]()
( I know he says no in its use for recording but this is in a guitar application in theory i don’t see how it wouldn’t work without tweaks from your mixer ect)
here you go:
SAVE IT FOR LATER
You can even record your DJ performances directly to an iPod docked within iM9! Housed in tough sheet-metal with solid, brick-like construction, iM9 is designed to withstand the most raucous performances and still make the next night’s gig. If you’re looking to add dimension to your DJing, Numark’s iM9 is just the right move to take your sets in an interesting, new direction.
Why cant I find a list price for this bad boy?
its being released at namm this year i think
You could get one of these

BUT ha a mad idea to recored back in to the mac using the line in on the mac and audacity by setting the mac default sound to my m-audio sound card and use that in traktor but that really slow traktor down… any more thoughts?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
