5 Crazy Ableton Live Controllers

That’s a great article. I really liked the wobble LFO controlled by the Kinect. Probably one of the best uses of the kinect outside of the xbox.

yeah. just read it. love the kinect wobble too..

Link doesn’t work for me… seems their site is down … or have an old NI Server

Bloody typical.

My article was just too awesome.

yep the whole site seems to be down. I get 403 forbidden.

Best use of the Kinect outside of gaming is in the operating theatre where surgeons are being able to watch and interact with MRI scans without having to leave the OR, read the charts then scrub up again just to reenter. They just wave in the air and pan, zoom and flick through highres scans.

Genius. Saves lives too.

I read that today too, and agree. Totally awesome.

Edit: On Topic- link is down for me too, but I want to check it out

Cool article I hadn’t heard of that site I bookmarked it to keep track let us know if you post some more.

Regarding the Maven… how could ANY midi controller cost nearly 30 grand? and then be controlled by a midibox… If that dollar value is true someone took major advantage of Sasha’s bank account..

Nice piece dude. Just went looking for pictures of the Maven after posting in another thread. But £15,000 a piece i find that very hard to believe:O although it probably took a serious amount of time to design to Sashas specs anybody with the know how could build the hardware and map the software easy enough i assume. The case seems to be very well built id say a good portion of the cost went on the case alone.

I also agree that the Kinect was a major technological step forward the applications for it are endless. I also remember reading somewhere that before Microsoft started developing it the only real step forwards in that particular area of technology was made by DARPA. Only for Microsoft stepping up it would of taken years to come to the market

paying some specialist an hourly rate for the design and build is probably where much of the money went although 15g does sound pretty high

nice work!
