Ideas for a controller slipmat-shape support surface

I am not good with manual work and I am not good in mods, but I have always have an idea that I think is quite useful and I want to give it a try.
Have you ever been on a tight spaced Dj booth trying to find where to put your controller? It happens to me all the time, and almost every time I feel like wanting to place it on top of a turntable, but there is something that is in my way of doing it… the TT spindle. Yes it is that center protuberance in the TT that avoids me from placing my vci on top. Sometimes if there is no other space I just put some foam or something to make a flat surface on top of the tt.
So I have been thinking of making a kind of sandwich with 2 slipmats and some round shaped foam in between so I can create a flat surface that allows me to palce my vci on top of the TT without touching the spindle or damaging any surface. Do I explain myself?
I Know it is a strange question and concept description but maybe someone already came up with a similar idea or, maybe any suggestion to create this slipmat shaped surface? or solution for placing a vci on top of a tt…
one thing to consider though, would be that the VCI 100 is 14 inches wide and a slipmat is (12inches) so there would be an overlap of 1 inch either side.
Also movement from the turntable platter could be an issue.
One Idea thats just come to me while writing this is:
Adding 4 large extra feet (with foam in the centre to help absorb vibrations) on either corner of the vci so that it stud up over the turntable platter much like the feet on the new (EKS Otus USB DJ Controller). Could possibly add another foot to the centre of the vci to sit on the turntable spindle aswel for added stability - not sure if this would work, would have to take down dimensions and lay out of the deck to check - Unfortunately I dont have a turntable to test this out.
Just my little brainstorm on the idea - Will have a think of some more possible inventions!
I use 2 Auralex Monitor Isolation pads for this. I’ve notched out on the bottom certain spaces for CDJ-1000’s. I can fit the 2 pads over a CDJ-1000 and the VCI-100 on top of it without touching the platter.
those are some nice ideas! Though I am not shure in using the isolation pads.

Do you think that it would clear the spindle on a Turntable?

I think that the extra inch will not bother. Though the issue of the spinning platter is something to think about… I am a simple man so I just put 2 pieces pf tape to stop it turning lol.
Also Turntables are usually placed so they dont receive much vibration and their foot stands absorve vibration aswell so placing the vci on top it aids with preventing possible vibration issues.
