If My Calculations Are Correct [House/Experimental track]

If My Calculations Are Correct [House/Experimental track]

This is (sadly) the most complete original track that I have ever put together. It is also the best original track I’ve ever put together, imo.

The title, of course, comes from the Back to the Future sample I used.

It started out as just an electro track, but I got kinda crazy and tried doing things I don’t normally do.

Please give me some feedback on this tune, I think it turned out pretty damn well. Also, it’s not done yet, I just wanted to hear what people think so far.

Edit: I should also add that there’s not a whole lot of bass in this… sorry. I’m awful at basslines for some reason and that’s always the last thing I do…

Looking forward to the bass’ed up edition

Thanks.

It’s always a bit of a hassle to try to add bass to my tracks. I don’t have monitors or anything, so I have to drag my laptop downstairs to use my family’s stereo. Also, since I don’t do it that often, I don’t have a lot of experience with it…

But since I’m so excited for how this is turning out I can’t wait to do it.

Get some good earphones dude  I know it’s not the same as a home stereo, but a club soundsystem is neither a home stereo  What are you producing in?

a spectrogram helps in producing bass line ALOT
grab another song with a similar sort of bass line that you are going for and compare the results of your spectrogram to the song that your producing - the aim is to get the levels pretty similar so that you know that your bass levels are in a good range.

This is something you should be doing even if you have a good system your producing on.

track’s got potential mate. good job

Rallevondalle: I’ve been meaning to buy some better headphones, money’s just tight right now :disappointed: And to answer your question I did this in FL Studio.

Bento: at the risk of sounding dumb, what exactly is a spectrogram, and what do I use to get one?

Jester: Thanks bro.

Also, if anyone’s interested, I put together a simple bassline for the song, I just replaced the original file on Soundcloud, so if you’d like to hear it, just click on the like above.

Let me know what you think though: better? worse?

Thanks for all of your feedback

theres a spectrogram in fl studio. throw it in a mixer channel and you are good to go :stuck_out_tongue:
