…why don’t you check out my new turntable.fm channel.
I’ve grown tired of the current djtt channel being overrun by endless amounts of dubstep, so i’ve created a new channel called Underground Sound, for underground house and techno, though anything else in good taste is acceptable.
basically..
its usually poorly produced.. producers use up all their headroom on trying to make a dirty midrange and don’t leave room for a big sub..
so you get these weak baselines and overly compressed percussion.
BUT.. it sounds “good” with crappy youtube quality through skullcandies..
so thats what people like i guess
where as with actually dubstep you need a decent system to properly feel the sub.. which is where the weight is!
So yeah.. brostep might seem “heavier” on skullcandies because its ‘weight’ is in the mids..
but proper dubstep will sound much more full/heavy/dirty on a proper system than brostep
brostep also has a very commercial vibe..
dubstep has.. well dubstep vibe
thats just my 2 cents tho.. to each their own.
I can get on to both but it takes A LOT of digging for me to find a decent brostep tune.
