Im back!

Im back!

I will soon be the proud owner of the S4, AIAIAI headphones, Crane laptop stand, KRK monitors, and a Macbook Pro 15" 2.66 ghz laptop computer. Ive been out of the game for several years and mixed back in the 80’s when music was music. Now, thanks to DJTT, Im back and ordered my equipment today! Thanks to Chris for all the help and I look forward to getting to know all of you.

welcome back! what did u spin in the 80s?

Welcome. Your going all in gear-wise! The Aiaiai are fantastic.

Howdy neighbor!

Well, I started DJing in southern California during the 80’s. I listened to and played all sorts of dance music. Prince, Michael Jackson, SOS Band, George Clinton / P-Funk All stars, El Debarge, Shalamar, etc etc etc. I played in clubs, schools, private parties, wedding, you name it. Ever since I started browsing through the new technology of today, I started getting “that feeling” again and realized how much easier it will be to remix / “mashup” music and from that point, my mind started going crazy.

My next purchase is the Maschine, Able Live, and a midi keyboard. So, you now see where Im going and boy, am I excited.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Kidd

Is there a website where you can purchase samples? Samples like “Hit” “1 2 3 hit me” “Party people” etc etc etc

Thats the exact setup i want too.Great choice
And welcome to the boards man.

welcome to the forums and nice set up

my story exactly…
Was a vinyl dj in 80s now s4 mac AIAIAIAIA and midifighter.

Im loving my setup so far! There is so much to learn, but as you know, if you love what you do then it comes pretty easy. The S4 tutorial DVD really helped a lot and Im looking forward to the new S4 DVD coming out soon.

I have a few questions:

  1. What are some good mp3 / remix sites for music other than iTunes? Again, Ive been out of the mix for a while.

  2. Is there a place where I can go to buy loops/samples/etc? Im looking for quality product at a reasonable price.

Any help would be appreciated.

To answer you first question, try beatport, junodownload, audiojelly, trackitdown etc. There are others, but those are the ones i use almost every day.

Thank you for the help!

Thank you sir! Anyone else have any sites they frequent?
