The vtt101 midi controller.I want a cheap but fully functional pad to practice on scratching and the vvt appeared to be the best choice out there.
1)I own an old ddr1 pc with WinXP,emu0404 soundcard,so is it gonna work properly on my shitty (excuse me) setup for recording scratch purposes?I own an ancient v.1 traktor to connect it with.
2)I couldn’t find any proper info online, but i noticed that many people (and a review author) have had issues with mapping. Review: DJ-Tech VTT-101 Mini USB Scratch Controller - Digital DJ Tips
a)however don’t expect to use it with the supplied Deckadance software as it’s terribly laggy
b)“DJ-Tech provided us with an early HID Virtual DJ mapping, and with this, it was a completely different story with the unit – it was tight and responsive, not far off as good as anything I’ve used for scratching and crossfader control. You could easily stutter with the big cue buttons, and the unit immediately made perfect sense. It was suddenly a blast to use.”
c)I don’t see the product in the midimaps section,is there another map compatible or something?
All i need is to be sure about its proper funcionality and i’ll get it.
Welcome to DJTT Molerboy
Dont buy it seriously I wouldnt buy anything by DJ-Tech if you paid me. The Denon DNS2C000 is a better choice to map with how do I know because I own one. 1)Upgrade your system you wont get the full benefits of an old version of Traktor. Microsoft has stopped supporting XP by now so thats bad. c) The reason you dont see any maps for it is because it’s probably not very popular for the reasons you mentioned.
Alternatively you can pick up a used VCI-300 mk2 for probably $200. This works with Serato, and you won’t need to buy a license for the software, as the software will work with any Serato-branded equipment. The VCI 300 was famed when it came out for it’s responsive jogwheels, making learning to scratch easier than it had been before. I say this having owned one as my first DJ controller. Serato can work on XP/7/8 without problems.
However, the DNS2000 that bc6 mentions is also good, you’ll just have to buy software in addition to the controller.
Thank you for your replies.
I wish that i could afford the controllers you guys suggested but unfortunately i can’t.I know that they aren’t so expensive compared to other decent controllers but still not afordable for me.
The whole thing is coming to an end with my setup,i have serious problems with electricity where i’am at,so i’m kind of waiting for this pc to explode on its own and then before i manage to get a new one i’m gonna have to buy a ups and i’m below point 0.So i’d just buy that as a small gift to record some scratches for my tunes indepedently.Found it for 40 euro and despite the delay/mapping issues some users probably figured things out.
As for my pc’s specs
pentium 4 cpu 3,2 ghz,3.19ghz, 1.00gb ram
Even though i’m kinda dissapointed with how things turned out,it looked too good to be true.
I plug an electric guitar bass for recording issues and it responds greatly..The condenser mic as well using phantom power. My pc has been handling stuff,i never thought it could. So i thought that as far as it’s not a traktor s4 or something heavy it’d work fine.Actualy i was addicted with the whole thing when i scratched at a friend’s house on a traktor controller…And his computer isn’t much better than mine so…
20eu laptop plus 20eu for shipping laptop?Unfortunately as someone might realize thus far i’m poor enough and have serious life issues to overcome-for years.I have serious problems with my equipment and my electricity system,it blacked out in the past as it got wet and water had access when it rained.I have a plan and try to gather money for a lot of time to get a new pc.This is my number one priority and it’s the most important cause i’m more into music production/sound engineering,i’m not an actual dj nor intrested in becoming one.I have a technics sl1200 MK2 so i’d pay for a good mixer, decent cables and a few discs if i had a nice workstation, renewed electricity system ending at a trustful Ups and the money to do so.I prolly wouldn’t pay the refered dimes (40eu) for my workstation. The one i got is 10 years old and still functional one way or another despite the difficulties. As said i wanted this as a gift for myself (rare) to practice indepedently and record scratches on my tunes…I noticed the encouraging info at the given review and thought of seeking for some more approving feedback.Little did i know..
