Increase posts per page?
Currently we can see 10 posts per page on each thread, i am considering increasing this amount to make browsing longer threads a bit easier. What do you guys think of this idea, yes or no ?
and how many posts do you think should be viewed per page ?
cant we change this ourselves in the user cp? i currently have mine set to 20. i encourage the community to get more knowledges

Yup but most people dont change it, so im considering changing the default.
why not go all the way and make it 40? the setting is in the user cp, and is rly nice when reading long threads
40 is alot by default, if users want that many they can set at that level by theirselves.
I like the sound of 15 posts per page =)
I have mine set to 100 posts per page on most vbulletin forums I visit
That would cause a problem if someone created a link to a particular page of a long thread. I guess that type of link would also not work for those that changed their own number of posts per page.

Ill have to give this some thought.
the solution to that is to link directly to the post (copy the link from the little number in the top right of each post) instead of linking to the thread and then writing, “go to page 4” etc.
Yeah but there are a bunch of links across the internet and these boards already - if i change it by default it breaks all of these types of links to our forums across the whole internet if they are a linking to a particular page.
I did consider this when I posted.
For some reason when I click on that link I get a gray page that I cannot read. It also just the single post and not in context.
As Bento said there are also many links to specific pages already.
