just a quick one, i cooked my second hard drive that i keep in the drive bay of my laptop and the only replacement i could get at short notice has the (relatively) new usb micro type b socket, i had to buy it as i needed another hard drive quick and so had no choice, the only problem ive run into is my drive bay adapter is sata and the socket on the new hdd is directly soldered to it,
is there a new drive bay that i can buy that has this connection?? id rather have it as a secondary internal than plugged in by some crappy cable thats going to die on me mid-set
I have a small query that I would like the help of this fantastic online community with. The secondary hard disk drive that I use in place of the DVD drive in my notebook computer has reached the end of it’s usable life. Unfortunately the only replacement that I could acquire in the time frame permitted by work and other arrangements, has the (relatively) new USB micro type B socket, i had no other option than to purchase this as a replacement was needed right away. The only problem I’ve ran into is my drive bay adapter is Sata and the socket on the new hard disk drive is directly soldered to the new socket.
Does anybody know of a new drive bay that one can purchase that has this connection?? I would rather have it as a secondary internal than plugged in by some poor quality cable that may indeed die very swiftly.
My thanks to anyone that may help with this dilemma.
thats alright mate the first response was in no way aimed at you… the data doubler is a great tool, but unfortunately i just need it with a different plug. i may just have to keep the drive external for now
