So I see it was announced by Apple.

Bottom line: We get multitasking and NO Flash.

Flash wouldnt be a smart move for apple because then lots of people would play lots of online games and buy alot less games off the store - it would hurt apple and not help them

they’d still get the sales of ‘non-game’ apps and music etc…

make no mistake, apple saying flash is too buggy to use is an excuse for the real reason: the ipad designed by them to consume media, media, they want you to pay for.

having flash on the ipad would mean

1. people could watch/listen to streaming movies and music without going through the “approved” methods.

2. people could bypass the crazy developer rules set in place by apple (that includes a binding agreement not to talk about the rules) and make their own apps out of flash.

lol! I’m all for flash. I don’t know why people are against it. I have never had problems running it on mac or win os. Why would it be different on ipads/iPhones/iPods?

I really don’t need flash, if apple wants to use html5 so be it. I hate running flash on my Mac cuz it a CPU whore. Just my 2 pesos

I find it is a RAM whore, but on the CPU it is not that bad.

that’s the well known performance issues that mac had with flash…flash works great in windows and linux

Ur lucky imo if u dont need flash but i dont see everything going to html5 just cause that what apple wants.

Very true charo. I’m not a big flash user, but I can imagine for people that rely on it it sure would suck. It would be nice to see a beatport app to buy music

there’s tons of opinions in the links comments, i’m not sure how big a deal this is to tell you the truth but then again i’m not a iphone/ipad developer…

the bottom line is that they’re trying to protect their investment. it’s not like there’s some plot to piss off all developers and users who want flash while the suits cackle at their misery.. i don’t think they realized how big of an issue it would be when they started developing the OS, and now there’s really nothing they can do about it since the system is already in place.
