Is it illegal to use an already famous name as my Dj/Producer name?

Is it illegal to use an already famous name as my Dj/Producer name?

I am not trying to get famous quick by using a famous name. I wanted to use “Spider Pig” as my name because my last name is Hamilton and I thought this would be an awesome/funny producer name. But I don’t know if this causes any issues.

Hamilton - “Spider Pig”… I don’t see the connection? :-\

EDIT: I’ve also never heard of a DJ SpiderPig, so you’re probably okay.

lol its not that big of a connection but

HAM - PIG … thats what i was going for lol
That and it is my favorite part of the Simpsons movie.

Ah :stuck_out_tongue:

Go for it

Why not DJ Porky then?

Or Dj Bacon Bitz lol

Unless the name itself is trademarked, go for it. Even the big boys don’t do this often. If some big dudes in suits walk up your path weilding baseball bats, its on you.

DJ Ham Shank

DJ Hammy

Lol why “Shank”? Sounds brutal

I don’t want a name that is too cheesy, but at the same time, I would like for there to be a little bit of humor in it.

DJ Pork Sword! Oinko! Iggly piggle!

Hmm pretty good names, I will keep them in mind. lol

Swine O’ the times!

Rofl DJ Porksword… love it.

I’d also like to recommend “DJ Meat Curtains”.

DJ Deuce Pigalow?

  1. Why would you do it? Do you want to leech on someone who is already popular to gain attention for yourself?
  2. Supershit name anyway

Using the ‘-ton’ part of your name you could use weight related words as well.

DJ Heavy Hamded.

You don’t want it to be super cheesy, yet you chose a super cheesy name… ironic.

Oh! Oh! Why not, DJ Pigs in Blankets, and wrap yourself in a duvet when you perform? It’s like DP’s and Mau5’s masks, only warmer.

EDIT: And cheaper.
