Is there anyway to get a midi keyboard to not send signals to Traktor?

Hey guys,

I’m having a bit of an issue and was wondering if any of you would happen to have a solution. I am running traktor and the maschine software together. I have the maschine drum pad mapped to traktor and I have it disabled in the audio and midi settings in the maschine software; the maschine pad successfully only sends signal to traktor and NOT to maschine.

I am also running a midi keyboard on which I’m playing synths in maschine. This keyboard keeps trigging stuff in traktor (essentially sending the same signals the drum pad is). Is there any way to stop this keyboard from sending signals to traktor and keeping it exclusive to maschine?

A guy at my local music store said if I got a keyboard that took midi cables I might be able to do this, is there any truth to that?

Thanks for your help!

Check the In/Out ports of the mapping and make sure it only listens to Maschine (not “All Ports”)

  • If your keyboard connects via USB this will fix it. If this is true then he was most likely trying to sell you a new one with extra features you probably don’t need.
  • If it connects via a MIDI cable to Maschine then you need to change the MIDI channel on the keyboard so it doesn’t overlap with Maschine’s messages.

You are a boss, thank you!

^^ shoulda known this one Izn :stuck_out_tongue:
