Jason K's Setup

Jason K’s Setup

Hi everyone. My name is Jason and I’m a gear-a-holic. :open_mouth:

Here are a few pics of my console and system. I designed and built the console in 2005, using AutoCAD and a CNC router. It features three turntables, three sections of 4U rackspace, and a motorized adjustable tilting control panel. The tile, granite, and plasma TV have been added over the years.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Jason

Seriously nice set up dude. It’s cool to see a DJ that cares about sound quality I bet that rig would sound amazing.
Allot of people seem to spend allot on gear and run it through a pair of cheap speakers  doesn’t really make sense.

Also, where did you get that booth from?

I built it. The design was based heavily on a Kevin Chillis style console. This is its second incarnation - originally it was covered in cherry veneer, and had a curved front:

 cheers on that nice setup!

Absolutely amazing console you have their, and those speakers are beautiful.

Incredibly clean and nice setup.

Really do need to invest in a rotary!

All I can do is reiterate this.

Well done!

Gangster.

A thing of beauty!

Nice.. Very, very nice!!

Gear p0rn.

That’s just sick!

So so nice, I absolutely love the audiophile element to this set up and the mix of old skool kit with newer stuff is pure class.

chapeau Jason!

I actually like your setup more than Ryan Ruels…also a sick setup on the forums…

Thanks man, but I don’t know…Ryan’s is SICK. I wish mine was as clean as his. What the pictures don’t show is that the underside of my console is a mess of wires at the moment. I have a feeling his is perfect. I want to eventually add a patch bay to the amp rack and homogenize the interconnects, but its a daunting task and I am…well…lazy.

Anyway, thanks to everyone for all the compliments. If I can ever get beyond 5-post newb status, perhaps my replies to this and various other threads will start to show up. (mods help!)

I actually like this set up more as well. I applaud the fact that there is no “Pioneer Plastic”, which shows that Jason K really cares about build quality over hype (just my humble opinion, not trying to start a debate or anything lol).

Beautiful!

Thanks guys, but I don’t know - Ryan’s is SICK…I wish mine was as clean as his. What the pictures do not show is the mess of wires underneath. I have a feeling his is perfect. I have been meaning to add a patch bay to the amp rack and homogenize all the interconnects, but its a daunting task and I am, well, …lazy.

Regarding Pioneer, its a shame that they compromise on their build quality so much. The feel of their gear is what puts me off on the brand. I do like many of the features, and with a proper D/A, the CD players can sound fine.
