first good thing happening to me this year.
Congratulations! What did you have before?
only my 13" mbp. bummer though that i´ll have to wait till tomorrow or thursday to get my dvi to mini display port converter ![]()
orz…that’s a huge step forward.
btw. do you feel comfortable with the 13" screen in general?
I’m thinking about getting one myself too.
its perfect for carrying around to gigs and shit. i wouldn´t change it for an 15" / 17" mbp
Sold! Just waiting for the new MBP-line (and money to afford it).
I recently upgraded to a bigger screen too. Much more fun with Ableton. Not really different with Traktor coming from a 1280x800 notebook screen.
nice
well congrats! that’s something good..i’ve been thinking of either a desktop system for my production need or just a laptop for years too.
Go laptop - more versatile yet plenty of power in these bright Intel Core days.
Congrats dude
. I love hooking up my monitor to my laptop too, makes working with plugins in ableton loads easier.
Yeah…this is me …100%.
I have an external screen…19"…but the Mini DVI adapter thing…is pretty darn $$.
But yeah…its a must if you producing etc…or using Live with Traktor.
Nice!
A mate did give me the iPhone to VGA adapter…kinda cool!

Its only just February… plenty more “good” to come to yet mate![]()
gazes into crystal ball
thanks for the suggestions.
Now that laptops has become more of a ‘disposable’ gadget i wouldn’t mind to buy a new one. Still waiting for the Ultrabook era to become more prominent, maybe in the next 3-4 months time with more options available.
well if you buy the adapter straight from apple it´s pretty expensive but i ordered on from amazon for 8€… saved me 20€ ![]()
I have the same setup with the 24" screen and the 13" MBP. I love both, only downside is with Trktor you cant use both screens full screen. If you mirror the screens, they lag and get really distorted. If you dual screen, you cant full screen traktor on the 24". Best way is just close your MBP and go full screen on the 24" while at home…not that big of a deal but wish i could do dual screen with traktor on full on my 24". Major traktor flaw…
have the same setup (13" MBP, 24" monitor, dualscreen) and you can go fullscreen on the 24" if you move the menubar to the big screen in the monitor preferences, to make the external monitor your primary one..
Wow…never even knew you could do that…how do you swap the menu bar over?? Im an avid PC user at heart but got a MBP for $700 like new so i went for it…still learning new things on it daily…
system preferences, displays, arrangement, drag the little white bar in the window from one virtual monitor to the other (meaning you do it inside the window, not across the other physical display).
we all have to begin somewhere.. i had this exact same problem some years ago, when first switching to a mac and getting a 2nd monitor ![]()
