Just recorded a mix in traktor…
Can someone please explain to me how i use garageband now to convert the wav file into mp3 please as i have not got a clue lol.. or audacity as i have that on my macbook too, which ever is easiest and best for doing the job at hand.

I always use Switch, nice little freeware program which does nothing but convert from wav to mp3. But that it does conveniently well.
After you install the Lame file you can drag the recording straight out of Traktor into Audacity. Go to file>export and you’ll be able name the track. There’s also an options tab where you can tell Audacity to save it as an mp3 and what bit rate 320K is the norm for songs. but I save all my mixes at 192k. It saves quite a bit of space and since they’re mixes and not songs and they’re meant to really play out, but more just listen to.

itunes converts wavs to mp3s like it aint no thing
bonus points for id3 tagging as you go…

ok so i used switch, seemed pretty seemless, inserted my wav file and a few mins later its in my folder as an mp3 easy.. not gimme some feedback on it haha
use itunes…open itunes prefrences and under “general” find import settings…set it to whatever you want then right click the track and boom you have your file
just sorted them out now so will use that next time. can load it straight on my iphone too that way i guess cheers bro
yeah, then i do a smart playlist so i can find / sync all my crap to a phone. rec a cpl mixes, plug in the phone, xfer BOOM done go power-walking and critique myself
i just put the wav on soundcloud, once you done tagging and converting it takes just as long either way.

agreed. i prefer .wav over mp3 anyways, much better quality
when people want to download it though they tend to get mad 
what whatever they can wait their little asses the extra 10 min to download
