Keeping up..

Keeping up..

Hey DJTT,

Okay so a bit of a strange situation.

I’m currently deployed to a foreign country, and was wondering how does one keep up with the passion when resources are limited.

I am unable to access internet for the most part to acquire new tracks. I am lacking a controller, which is not obviously not a necessity, but is appreciated. I am unsure of how I can better myself, if I don’t have the most vital piece of my arsenal?

Any Ideas?

Spotify Premium? Go on massive Spotify radio rambles, star tracks you like, buy 'em when you get home? You’d need 3G for that though, so some kind of PAYG local SIM card with a decent or unlimited data quota.

Get a Ableton manual in paperback. install the software and create the music you wish you could hear if you had internet. searching for that perfect sound is an awesome pastime and will help you develop fundamentals.

Thats actually a great idea… best excuss to learn production…

OP - may a ipad with traktor dj would at least give you something to do if you can take a controller

produce. If you cant mix music, may as well make it.

+1 for the iPad idea. Depends if they’ll let you take one though I guess.
