Keyboard MOD Idea

Does anyone know if anyone has gutted a PC keyboard to be a controller? I know the keyboard triggers are not so hot but if you connect buttons and triggers to the keyboard contacts will this be sufficent enough to use! We all now any one can pick up an old keyboard for practicly free?

The only problem I can see with the keyboard as a controller is that they are a matrix so if you press some keys in combination only some of them will register… so not as good for triggering tracks. All good for what Earl is doing tho.

Yea thanks for the quick reply,
but what if you use other buttons with better rebound for us djs and just hard wire them to the key contacts. Do you know what im tring to say? Let me know. I just think its a easy way to do it compaired to building a midi controller from scratch.

well this is just a temporaly solution for me, cause im saving money for controller. been unemployed for a long time so this was the cheapest for me:wink: i was thinking of buying a vci 300 but then the livid ohm apeared and i´m totally in love with.
by the way i djlyngo i´ve never thoght about tuning a keyboard in that way. keep on with this. i think it´s a cool idea.
