Kinda need help with a soundcloud issue that I dont know what to do about

So I made a mashup about 2 weeks ago and some guy messages me today telling me that I copied it from him, he used the same tracks in a mashup but his is different. Now he keeps commenting on the track on soundcloud saying its copied and he messaged me and told me to take it down and I told him I wasnt taking it down because it was my work and I hadnt even seen his soundcloud until he messaged me and now he keeps messaging me and its getting nanoying. Any thoughts on what I should do about this?

Ignore him.

If both of you used content without permission from the owner, neither of you have any rights as far as copying goes.

Can’t you block him? And yeah, he’s got no more of an intellectual claim on a mashup than you do. If the owners decide to take down either of you, they’ll be contacting Soundcloud direct.

yea I know, and I didnt know you could do that Ill look into that now

I’m not sure as I’ve never had the occassion to block anybody - yet!

The issue was solved the guy messaged me and said he realized they were different…took him a while to realize it but hes finally stopped messaging me and commenting on the track saying it was copied. Thanks everyone for your input, still gonna look into the blocking thing just in case I ever need to

This guy sounds like a complete dumbass. Seeing as EVERYONE on soundcloud in some way or another uses another artist’s work.
