Kontrol S4 Audio Problems, solved

Hi everyone,

I had problems with my S4 having horrible dropouts and USB errors, and this is how I fixed it. I was also wondering what other problems, if any, you all are currently experiencing with the S4.

I bought my S4 July of 2011 and it worked great! I started having problems a couple months ago with small glitches and dropouts, but nothing too major. However, with the new update for Traktor Pro (2.1.3) and the newest drivers, my S4 began massive dropouts, underruns, USB errors, and in a couple of cases blue screened my computer. I have an ASUS n73sv-dh72 with an i7-2670QM 2.2 GHZ and 12 GB of ram. So obviously performance wasn’t the issue. I read endless forums about others having problems with the sound card in the S4 and tried everything that was recommended. Nothing worked.

FIX
In the end I fixed it like this: Uninstalled all Traktor components, reinstalled the previous version of Traktor Pro (2.1.2) and reinstalled the earliest S4 drivers I could find (2.9.2) This has worked for me so far and seems to be back to almost new. I have experienced a few underruns still. If you can install Traktor Pro 2.1.1 I feel like that might do the trick.

This, of course, is just my experience and I am very curious to hear what you all have to say. Hopefully this can help someone who is at their wits end.

can you by chance send me the 2.9 drivers? i updated to 3.02 tonight and now my S4 isnt wokrkign correctly… i load the songs up …press play and nothing happens..

NM found the drivers on my portable hard drive! thank god for backups!

I also experienced that problem. Unfortunately, the driver installer that I used is on my original installation disk that came with my S4 and it’s not letting me send any of the files from the disk. I did see a post earlier from DJTT about downloading the 2.9.8 drivers I believe. Hopefully you can find them, this link might help.
