Kontrol S4mk2 – Reliable for gigging ?

So i’ve narrowed it down to the S4mk2 for smaller gigs where i dont wanna lug around my TA10/Xone/X1’s and Maschine.

I am used to NI gear, controller editor etc and am sure the S4 mk2 has tight integration with Traktor Pro, however i am new to the all-in-one game and have doubts about reliability as if one part fails, it all comes crashing down.

Guys if u have gigged regularly with an S4 mk2 ( or other 4 chan controller ), please advise as i will soon drop hard earned cash on one…

You could bring just the A10 and an X1 for smaller gigs where they have a mixer installed, and maybe a Z1 for when they don’t?

Hi there…i have to bring my gear everytime, no clubs here so they dont provide a mixer, Z1 wont cut it as i need 4 decks…though that would be very portable.

s4 is good for Gigging. I’ve seen it in plenty of clubs. I owned a VMS4, and used it many times, so you should be good.

Lots of complaining on the NI Forum however…the Vestax VCI 400 Ean Golden looks quite cool too…

Both Zedd and Porter Robinson gig with an S4.

I have been playing almost every weekend over the last 3 years. First 2 with an VMS4 and the last with a DDJ SX and not once have I got any problems during those gigs. played some his only using a Z1 and X1 MKII. Have DJ friends that have been using S4 or S2 the MK 1 version and haven’t heard any complains from them.
We all are using MBP’s so that might be a factor for not failing.

Both Zedd and Porter Robinson have the same problems with the S4 as many other users too.
