Kontrol X1 self Repair

Kontrol X1 self Repair

I have an issue with one of my X1’s. Namely the Right FX1 button sticking and unresponsive until you press it hard to the left side of it.

Has anybody opened up one? or have any hint’s as to how to go about repairing it?

i tried opening mine up… removed all the screws, and it wouldnt budge. tried everything in the world including my micro set of screw drivers hoping to pry it open and nothing worked.

So pretty sealed? Any idea if there’s any factory manuals out there? cannot seem to see any.

It’s been opened and there’s pictures posted on here somewhere. They showed how to remove the writing on the buttons. I can’t find the thread though.

i’ve got the same button problem, but with the Hotcue, sometimes it don’t respond…
i dont know if open it and do a cleaning would solve this.

any ideas?

AHA! Just did a little Google searching to this site, found the thread, thanks:

Will see and post if it helps…

Smash it like Deadmau5…

Might be to do with dirt between the contacts like what happends with many nanopads…

Yeah, using it many dark places and getting grimey :disappointed:
Will attempt to clean disassemble and it today, will post result of cleaning.

Dismantling / reassembly completed. Pretty simple, just had to remember about the screw behind the NI sticker.

Tested without the enclosure e.g PCB only. Look’s as though the switch is faulty as pressing it had to be done on a certain angle to activate it. Looking at the Ni website for details of any warranties. Non found so far.

Look’s as though I need to find someone with soldering skill’s better than mine to replace it. :disappointed:

the fact that it’s been opened means it no longer has any warentee, you should have sent it back to NI !

I mentioned it as a more of a reference to other’s. Living in Jakarta and purchasing it in UK would mean a hell of a long shot for repairs. Not to mention length of time a way for what is essentially a sticky button.

I can bear it.
