Sliders are way cooler and easier to use for operations where you need multiple to adjust multiple parameters… no need for a smart knob.
Almost has too many configuration options with all those knobs, buttons and sliders… turns me into a giddy school girl.
Cannot wait for my NanoPad and NanoKey to arrive
Perhaps someone can answer this (Bento?): How can I run multiple devices into Bomes? Is this possible via Midi Yoke? What is the best practice for handling midi channels. If I run multiple devices through Bomes, will each device still broadcast on it’s own channel? Up until know I’ve stuck to Omni and resolved midi message conflicts manually… but that’s unmanageable know that I have 4 controllers. Need advice please!
I know that the new version of Bomes will allow you to route multiple controllers in and out.
In my new mapping (with, like, almost 80 presets) I have every message individually mapped. This helps with visually seeing conflicts. I’d recommend this approach.
Huh… I haven’t used presets before. The way the manual describes them it looks like they act like pages. That has some interesting possibilities. If nothing else, using presets would help me organize my translations.
So I’ve been using v1.61… this new version you speak of has yet to be released, right? Are there any workarounds until then?
Presets work almost exactly like T3’s MIDI Pages, but with a LOT more functionality and power. I have everything broken down by function, and deck I’m controlling, etc. etc. etc. If you hit me up on AIM when I’m on I can share my mapping (it’s almost done, after I’m done bugging the hell outta Bento).
For me, Presets are where Bomes can really shine in its organization and implementation. The variables and rules can do amazing things, don’t get me wrong, but I love the control that Presets give, and if I could do everything with presets I would. I probably could, too, just haven’t yet.
it’s V1.70 I think, or something around there. Until then I’d just run a separate Bomes instance for each controller and output them to different MIDI Yoke channels. Then make sure the mappings don’t overlap as well.
The free Korg Kontrol Editor is available. I use this to copy scenes and reassign CCs on my Kontrol. Lovin’ it - completely offloaded all of my FX control from my RMX and that’s just one scene (out of four possible scenes).
