Is it possible to take 2 nanopads and make them share one usb port?
since their cheap i was thinking of getting 2 or 3 and make my own layout
casing and stick them inside, an easy solution would be to put a usbhub inside the box.
has anyone opened their nano, how is it inside? would it be easy to mod?
I think you could with the software. Software is quite powerful. Knobs and things can do many things..like you can make custom knobs and controls, etc.
I don’t know for sure because i don’t have one…but…have a hunt around in the software and see if it lets you change the midi channels that they transmit on and problem solved…if you cant do this with the software you may need a 3rd party program to do it for you.
i guess i have to buy one and open it to see whats inside
if the faders and buttons are mounted would it be easy to unmount and
rearrange them in an other box?
well you can hook up as many nanopads as you want, they get shown in the software as nanopad1 nanopad2 etc. i was thinking about modding my nanopad and maybe adding some lights. however i havent opened my nanopad yet. ensure that you might need a powered usb hub (even though the nanopad use pretty much no power. i can try to run my nanokontrol and nanopad on a non powered usb hub if you want, however i only have two of them).
there will be an article coming out soon with an extensive mod of the nanopad and bomes midicontroller, whih will let you use the xy touchpad to control more than just two knobs per scene. i really hope people will like this mod.
instantly broke mine when i got it .. 2 days and mini usb got pushed in by falling while usbplug attached shipping a black one for replacment though … warranty and support response is great for such a cheap product …i think they made the actual product to increase sales of padkontrol cuz now i want that
anyway if yall want pics of a nanopad broken down to zero … i can .. also looks like it operates even with the case off… new case time , and you may have to solder the hinges more they are ver flimsy
you build a little boz or case for both your nano controllers to sit in, then you connect the 2 usbs to a usb hub THEN hide the usb hub underneath the controllers in the box. What you have left is the master usb from the hub poking out a little hole in the back.
I was thinking the same thing because i would like to have 2 Nano Kontrols layed out nicely for the new 4 fx units in the new Traktor Pro without messy cablers everywhere
3x2 square piezos in their on chasis connected with some 14 strip wire thingy
took pics and analyzed the chips … the Japanese took it apart and laughed at it Dec 08, damn im late
Anyway lol
i wanna do this . but i the pads so i can make a custom controller.
Well I can say that you don’t need a powered hub for at least three of the nanos… I currently have two nanopads and a nanokontrol and am able to use all three off a non-powered hub with no problems at all.
I’m definitely interested in modding my nanos with some LEDs. Was really disappointed when they didn’t have them already like my padkontrol has. I bought a black one and ended up trading it to a friend for a white one because I could see the damn thing in dimly lit circumstances.
I would use the black light with black light ink I suggested earlier, but it works for me because I’m already implementing this solution with other buttons in my kit.
I want to replace the buttons on one (or three) of these and put it in a custom case so it doesn’t look like a chunk of plastic crap on stage. Could the buttons be swapped for arcade buttons?
Thank you, your pictures are very helpful, as im also going to build a new case for my nanopad. Do you think its possible to get a longer cable for the XY-Pad?
