laptop stands and apc 40

laptop stands and apc 40

anyone know of a good laptop stand that would work well with the apc 40 and look decent?

The one by Odyssey, whatever it’s called would be best. The uberstand would work too (PM me if you want to buy one).

The Uberstand looks sexy with everything

I have to be honest though, The APC 40 is big and would probably be unstable on one. I have to tape my laptop to it with gaffer’s tape so it doesn’t fall backwards even with the velcro and it is a standard 14". It’s best suited for 13" and smaller laptops. The odyssey stand is more rugged and multi purpose.

I use velcro to keep my laptop in place, and I have a beast of a 17"er. It has never budged on me once.

The APC40 doesn’t have a monitor, so theoretically it will be more balanced, and with a little double sided tape, or the velcro, which I’m a HUGE fan of, it should be relatively stable, I’d think.

I haven’t used the Odyssey stand, but it’s been on my radar for a while.

skratchworx just did a review on the tank that is the road ready stand.

it looks very stable, but based on the review its not as portable as the others.

Anyone got a load on the M-Stand?

I use the Odyssey, but the one I got didnt have the shelf. Its not really deep enough for my 17 inch monstrosity of a laptop but it is workable. I really need to attach velcro and it would probably be spot on. Considering I got mine in a kit with a huge laptop shoulder bag for right around $100, it was well worth it.

Wow how does your 17" not tip over? I use velcro along the back but I need it secured in the front or it flips back. I have a zip tie on each end of the front that I fold over my laptop and use a little gaffer’s tape to secure it in place. It works solidly but a little bit of a pain.

I bought a stand that is pretty much the same as the Odyssey, but under a different name. I no longer like the stand. It puts the laptop up so high that it blocks my face from the audience. Now I just use a 2’x2’ shelf on top of my keyboard stand. Everything fits there and the height is just right.

i have the oddessy L stand, but it only holds my laptop. keep my mixer underneath (when not in use) and the apc on the table in front… but still not a solution for the computer and APC on the same stand.

a friend has the same stand an the apc40 under the stand. works nice for him. notebook at the top.

Get two stands, I doubt he was expecting to fit a laptop and APC 40 on the same stand, that would be one crazy laptop stand. If he did want two in one they make them.

I have the Odyessy Stand but its made by MAGMA. It the Magma 1.0
Its really good but doesnt fold away. So i bought the Magma 2.0 which “looks” the same and folds neatly flat. It was DOG-SHIT. It was very shakey, to shakey to put my MBP on and one of the screws was threaded so it didnt tighten up, ive no idea how it got thru Quality Control so i sent it back.

Magma 1.0 = Excellent
Magma 2.0 = Death trap for your gear.

RE: laptop stands and apc40

Look at the stands on www.roadreadycases.com They look very sturdy
and have different ways to mount. Look at model RRFSL…Peace
