warm-up DJ: good tunes, but there was no excuse for the mixing
Hot Pink Delorean: electro house with MC’ing. These guys were so good, in the middle of their set I said to a friend, “I’m not sure MSTRKRFT is going to be much better than these guys!”
MSTRKRFT: :eek::eek::eek::eek: With respect to the statement above, I have never been so glad to be proven so completely wrong. Straight up mass murder on the dance floor. If I could dance that hard every week, not only I would cease becoming old and fat, but I think I might develop the ability to move through the air by force of will alone.
Saw MSTRKRFT 28.5. in Helsinki. A 2 hour DJ set and they killed it. They DJ very well and don’t whore with the mic. I was straight up front row. It was a riot I tell you, danced and bounced around for 2 hours. And the warmup DJ was excellent, you should check out Rico Tubbs if you like bassline electro.
You’re going to Boma tonight. I saw them there last time and it was killer. My boy Jack/Shapeshifter (not the one from NZ, but the former member of Random Movement, with release’s on Bassbin, Innerground, Breakbeat Science and Timeless) is playing tonight. He always kills it, so your in for a treat.
i’ve been wondering what really sets some DJs above the rest. what was it that mstrkrft did so well? was in tune selection, mixing style, live rmxing, or a combo of all?
