Less looking @ laptop setup

After finding myself looking more and more at my laptop instead of focusing on the music when practicing DJ’ing I decided it was time to make some changes to the setup.

This is my old desk made of Ikea parts:

So got an Ikea Expedit bookcase, a pair of KRK Rokit 6’s and moved everything to a different part of the apartment.
And it really worked!! Now the computer is mostly used for selecting tracks and I feel much more creative when mixing.

Go the UV light mounted.

Ongoing projects are:

  • custom stand for the Pioneer RMX-1000
  • 18" subwoofer (being painted Rokit white) and powered by a Yamaha P5000S from the old DJ desk.

I wouldn’t be able to focus on the setup, the view is amazing! :smiley: But yes I really like the white expedits and white rokit’s! Great Setup :smiley:

Nice looking setup man, think i might get something like this before I do my back in haha. where are the speaker stands from?

Wow they are only £12 :open_mouth: unbelievable bet the shipping cost a fortune though haha. are they heavy?

Thanks, with all the big windows it’s like living in an aquarium here, so quite often there is human audience too :thumbsup:

18 inch woofers and neighbours don’t always mix trust me I have been there.

You can buy them here in the Uk directly on amazon for £24.50 each- search for ‘Adam Hall speaker stands’.

I brought a pair last year and they are great.

I’m going to get the ones from china they are less than £30 with shipping to Scotland :slight_smile: can’t complain at that price.

The new set up on the Expedit looks super slick and the Rokits look great in matching white.

Laptop open for webcam purposes. But this is a set I had just made, check it out. Practicing everyday to become a polished musician :slight_smile:
