Has anybody seen these? The look pretty cool, but are a bit pricey for me.

me and my friend wear them when we play. People love it regardless of what some will say 
we don’t wear them the whole time, just the last 45 min or so when things really get tense

All headgear wearers and it does add to the effect in rave/club as much as the Lighting/Lasers/smoke etc.

If you’re selling out top tier venues with millions of dollars in lights and sound, and tens of thousands of people like Daft Punk and Deadmau5 then it’s fitting. Seeing two dudes on what looks like a karaoke stage during a club night at a bar, play to like thirty people… I actually lol’d.

I personally don’t wear anything on stage but Otacon, when I saw the pictures I was impressed. The look really cool.

To each their own. Personally, I’d never want to where that stuff out of fear that I’m gaining fans due to a gimmick rather than what I am actually doing. For me, that isn’t really satisfying. I want people to enjoy what I do for the music… not for the side show. That being said…

I think it looks awesome. I lol’d at the fact you think playing to a small crowd is funny. Everyone starts somewhere, and regardless of how many people your playing to, the size of the venue or the Equipment your using it still has the same effect=‘‘Jesus H Christ, there’s a dude…with a glowing head’’
The way i look at it, its not something people are going to come to see by itself. No one would come watch a dude in a mask stand on stage and twist knobs and press buttons if the music was horrible. I might not be the best dj, but people dance and have fun and we have fun doing it. The masks to us are really for our enjoyment. But like stated above, to each their own.
Oh nothing, I just don’t care about offending people, so I don’t step around it like most people do. If you’re offended, that’s your problem. If he has license to post about being silly, I have license to post about laughing at him. Just like you have license to get cranky about me laughing.
I think the effect is more often more along the lines of
“Hey the bartender asked me to tell you that the bar patrons can’t watch the football game on the TV screens with all the lights… could you turn those off? And could you announce over the mic that power hour is about to start… Also… are you going to play techno all night or are you going to switch to club music?”
