linking macbook to second monitor

hi, just wondering what cable i would need to do this to use ableton the the full thanks,

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)

i run a mini displayport to hdmi and plug it into my tv’s input

works fine. just go to system prefs and adjust the settings to your liking

I found out you can even use two external displays by using a mini display port to dual HDMI adapter. You might not be interested, but I was amazed when I found out since I hadn’t even considered that an option. The only downside is that the desktop will be spanned over both monitors. I’m using a product by Zotac, which seems to be discontinued, but I’m sure there are others.

just make sure that you get a monitor that has a HDMI or displayport input because those are the easiest to convert to from the mac port.
