Linux

yo what up i was wondering if any of you guys use linux any distro (red hat, fedora, ubuntu).

how do you guys like it if you do. I have it installed on my other laptop, i put xubuntu on it. its pretty cool.

i see they got some vst’s on here and stuff not using it for music but thought it was cool they have stuff out for it like that.

I am about to set up a media pc with Myth TV.

Also have had to deal with Red Hat servers a fair bit

im working on finding a build that works well. soon as i get that ill be experimenting.

for general use i would recommend Ubuntu

Linux is pretty decent theres also a version of JackDmp for linux that you can use to wire applications to one another

yea my major at school is computer information systems and i figured i will get a head start on things so i started messing around with linux. once i get the hang of the command line i will switch from ubuntu to another distro.

i want to build a server also that runs linux but thats maybe next year, in the next couple months hoping to build a pc. I am trying to get a projector and just connect the pc up to that and i am straight. I never watch television any way i just surf the net and i watch my shows on the internet or download them anyway.

No Traktor or Ableton, if you stand by regular installment. You have to resort to mixxx I guess?

Heres a list of dj applications for linux if it interests you -
