Livid Instruments Controllers & other sheeeet
Hey all,
I’ve become interested in VJ’ing over DJ’ing as of late and am searching for a Livid Instruments controller (preferably the OHM) I have gear to trade and cash. Also if anyone has had any experience with Livid Cell DNA I would love to hear the reviews. And I guess while I am here if anyone has a MF Spectra, Launchkey 49, or Studio Headphones like ATH50’s lmk too. I have CASH && TRADES

Cell DNA helped me refine my style from the directions I was exploring with Resolume. Solid and stable on both Win and Mac with top notch visual effects. Runs Max/Jitter if you want to make your own patches, and supports Syphon if you want to input or feed from outside of Cell. The fellows at Livid provide excellent support for both their soft and hardware - or at least they used to, I haven’t had to contact them in a while.
I’ve been VJing for over 10 years, using an Ohm for at least 8 of those years; first a Classic, and now an old Ohm64 (1st gen). I’ve still got the Classic, though she’s seen my soldering gun more than once. I’ve used Resolume since the early days, then moved to Cell DNA for years, and now am using VDMX. My current hardware setup for VJing is the Ohm64 with a Faderfox LX1 and LV1 for effects and generative visuals.

Have you checked into Livid’s ebay store? It’s called livid_instruments_outlet . Pretty much weekly they auction off new items that have slight cosmetic blemishes. But they’re new, in new packaging, with the warranty, and often go for about half what they cost new. I have a little ebay shop so I track sale prices. I can tell you that on average, prices for Livid’s things have been about: 1) Alias $200, 2) OhmRGB Slim & Code v2 $250, 3) Base & Ohm RGB $300, 4) CNTRL:R $350. MUCH less than what they cost normally.
I also am selling a Livid Base for about $300, but that’s probably not the droid you’re looking for.
