so I went to see a local singer/songwriter from my hometown at the weekend. My mate from work is the bass player in his band and I thought I’d show my support. Anyway, I’m not usually into indie music but these guys were superb and totally blew the crowd away. Just thought I’d post the video to their first single on here to put their music out there a bit.
Maybe this thread could be used to to show some material from DJs/Producers/Bands making their mark in your area.
There’s a budding folk scene coming from Michigan right now. I just started DJing, but I mainly run my life around my own folk music. Anyways, here are two of my good friends, JT Royster and Jeff Pianki. We play shows together and book under the same agency. Their music is incredible if you’re into the genre!
We’ve all been really fortunate and have gotten a lot of love from our state, but I’ll ya, nothing compares to the pure energy you can get from playing a good DJ set. Instead of playing my own songs before a show. I’ll bring my laptop with some cans and just mix. It always gets me in the mood to perform.
I KNOW!!! its soo good. I actually talked to him today at a planning meeting for a fall music festival here in the raleigh area, and I’ll be djing back 2 back with him later this month.
I’ve been playing around with ableton. Plan on making a bootleg edit to this, or getting the stems from him. I’ve written out a little bass guitar line, and I’m working on re vocoding and recording the vocals to Daft Punk’s “Something About Us”. The themes go so well together, but they are half an octave apart key wise. Re recording the vocals just makes more sense for a cleaner final product.
If hes down with it, I’ll probably just bring a microkorg to that set, and do the vocals live hahaha. That is… if he doesnt drop it =/
duude subprime is dope! just used one of his remixes in the thugstep mix
we’ve got a lot of producers here but they’re all relatively established, so i’m not sure i’d call them local, but here’s someone you probably haven’t heard of:
