Basically what I am going to use it for is recording my set’s. Currently I am DJ-ing using 2 CDJ’s and a mixer, nothing concerning MIDI or anything yet but I am thinking about switching it up in the future…
It get’s the job done but I would like a proper upgrade and a decent amount of inputs/outputs and I would like it to be compatible with MIDI for the future if I decide to mess around with Ableton Live or Traktor. There are a lot of candidates that fit that picture I guess so I’m not entirely sure what to go with. Budget aside, what would you recommend for the long haul?
How many analog in/out-puts do you need or expect to need in the future? Focusrite offer some decent quality for the price, Moto, RME are also very nice options. But cost a few $ more..
I would like at least 4 inputs/outputs, just to have some headroom. It’s nice to be able to hook up everything in one go without having to switch up devices and stuff which I have to do now just to record. I just don’t want to regret my decision a few years down the road and find out it’s lacking like I am now.
I was looking at this one - UltraLite-mk3 Hybrid Overview as an option, seems like quality gear. Would like to hear other’s opinion and experiences with certain interfaces
Is it suitable for live performance as well as studio recording? I’ve heard these kinds of cards can be quite vulnerable/fragile what is your experience with this?
