Looking for house/trancey songs
Hey, im playing my first gig at a club this friday. I’m playing mainly some bangers.. electro that is. but our set is about 2 hours long.. we need 4 hours.. the promoter told me to throw on a mixtape till 11 then go from there.. so im thinking to just throw together a easy house, trance top 40 kinda shit till 12.. then blast the heavy shit 12 - 2.
any suggestions?

If all your playing is bangers all night the crowd will get bored. You can only play so much…Justice, MSTRKRFT, Bloody Beet Roots, etc before you set sounds like a gernic playlist of whats hot right now. Play some older electro, like felix da housecat, ladytron, miss kitten, fischerspooner, and so one. Or maybe some classic house thats been remixed by laidback luke.
To be honest Evan_C you have to learn your music and find a genre that fits you. Just cuz all the hipster dj’s are play the same electro tracks, it doesnt mean you have to play them too.

its not all bangers.. its a very unique 2 hour set.. got alot of dubstep and alot of other random shit thrown in there.. its more of a high energy set than an electro set.. its got some really long build ups etc. and has some fast ones.
but im looking for throwing a quick hour together.. and im thinking that regular house / top 40 would be the easiest to get done by friday. I mix with a buddy and we go pretty wild during mixing… lots of fist pumping haha. I just need some advice on what music to spin before we go wild ..
Ye Evan I gotta agree with what JesC says, crowds get bored of bangin tunes fairly quick if you keep on churning them out. It just becomes waaaay too much on the ears and everyone needs a few spacey jams that make you say ‘wow this is such a good night’ at some stage! Here’s a few I tend to play a lot:

but these lot are always in my sets, but yeah dont keep 2 hours of pure bangers, you need to throw in summit every so often that jus breaks it up a bit.
