Looking into getting a VCI-100. What else do I need?

If I was to get a VCI-100 and Traktor would I also have to purchase a sound card or could I just plug it into my laptop and go. I currently use serato and it has the outboard piece of hardware. I know Traktor has a hardware you can buy for using time code vinyl, but if I am only using a controller is it necessary to get it?

you need to buy a soundcard, i suggest the Native Instruments Audio 2.
Also if you buy a VCI and get traktor 3 LE with it you can upgrade that to traktor pro for considerably less than purchasing pro outright.
