Looking Pro without Cases
alright, so the reason for this has a couple parts: 1. i’m tired of rolling up to the spot and having to carry in each table in hand, and 2. it looks unprofessional, and i have a big gig tmrw.
so i’m wondering if anyone has an easy solution to making your gear look more professional without jacking out a bunch of money (don’t have it) for flight cases?

If you still have the boxes for your equipment (and they’re not beat up) spray paint them black and stack them neatly on a rolling cart or portable dolly.
I know it sounds a bit too DIY, but if you have the time and resourcefulness make a stencil with a logo or your name and spray paint it on the box in white.
Failing that…

military surplus ammo crates?
ive got a case for mortar shells, all molded sheet metal with heavy padding its like 13 by 25 by 8 which isnt big enough for some decks but it is big enough for some controllers or cd players. and im sure they make bigger cases.

i guessed the measurements, yeah definitly would be cool for controllers but there is no way, tables or a mixer is going to fit in there
+1 on the surplus military crates, been meaning to get to the local surplus store to grab some. They come in all kinds of sizes and each one is unique

Check this out it’s a flight case & a laptop stand all in one. It fits a vci-100. All you need is a keyboard stand.

But that is a sweet case, seems like it might force my hands to be too close to each other though…I like my arms a little angled like this / \ and not like this | | …if that makes any sense ahaha
He said he didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I would even try getting a turntable flight case and getting some pick out foam.
He can get the case for +$100. I got mine for my vci for $80 bux, not bad I think? I needed something to protect my 1st gen vci-100 #5 of 100.
If you handy…you ‘could’ make it yourself. Obviously it won’t be ready tomorrow…but you could really easily make your own.
It would prolly work out cheaper if you made a few …for your mates etc.

@JesC…I been eyeing that exact model for a while now.
Only thing is…i would worry that it could fall backward.
There is another model JUST like it…but…it has the laptop directly on top of it…and the VCI inside will then pull out on a tray.
That also kinda sounds flimsy…but i rate you could fortify it.
But yeah…when my ship comes in and I have some $$ to burn…i want one like that.

I talk the to one of the big wigs from marathon and ask why didn’t they make a case for the vci-100, he replied that their isn’t a big enough market. I give him this lost look
