Macbook Pro 17" (used) or Macbook Pro 15" Retina (new) - what would you choose?

If the budget was there, but you didn’t want to spend money for monies sake would you go for a used (but excellent condition) Macbook Pro 17" or the new Macbook Pro 15" retina?
The machine is going to be a dedicated “music laptop” for running Traktor Scratch and also doing some production in reason\ableton and using wave editors etc.
Any opinions greatly appreciated.
