So my Asus laptop is already getting a failed hard drive sign (whirring and clicking on load up and then fading down). I am going to talk to them in about 30 minutes about the RMA process and I’m going to give them one more chance before I start getting pissed and wanting my money back or a straight up replacement.
My main three points in getting this machine was cost (Around $2,000) hard drive size (two 320gig 7200rpm SATA drives) and size (17" wide screen HD). Now, if the hard drive fails this does me no good.
I’ve been considering the Macbook Pro 17" but it’s going to cost me an extra $1000. I was wondering if a hard drive can be added to double the space to 640gigs, cause they don’t offer this on the site and I don’t want to have to carry an external hard drive around with me just to DJ. Backup is great and all, but I want to have to use as few plugs and USB ports as possible.
From what I have seen the MBP only have 1 HD, if you need to hook up a HD the best route is going with a firewire HD. Plus if you HD fails you can always create boot from the firewire HD
damn straight after I left my post @ 8:47 am I took another nap for 1hr 30mins!
But are you seriously considering getting a MBP? I would try to get my hands on a new discontinued model being that they had a nice price drop and tax season is in effect.
what is the biggest 2.5" drive there is? If there is a TB one, then you can build that inside! (Well, you could) Im gonna replace my drive inside my old MBP
