MacBook Pro Questions Again… (I know)

About to buy my MacBook on Monday, just wanted some input for the community. I’m getting the higher end 15" with the bigger 750GB and the upgraded graphics. My question is should I go with the small 500GB hard drive that does 7200 rpm or just stick with the 750 @ 5400 rpm? It’ll be used for dj’ing (duh), light video editing and maybe production later on. Thanx a milli guys.

I would say smaller faster drive. Only because speed for video editing is a nice plus.

I have a 15" high end with 120Gb SSD. Won’t go back to disk drives for my boot drive now. Traktor also loads my tracks super quick. Really nice.

the 7200 rpms goes a long way man. and if u have the money bey an external to do weekly (or more frequent) backups

Thanks for reminding me to turn Time Machine back on.

Smaller, faster and less heat buildup. The heat deal may just be an assumption, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that discussed.

Less heatbuildup for regular tasks … like DJ’ing as the drive loads the file faster = less access time, drive spins less.

More heat though if you are accessing the drive for long periods continuously like video streaming, backups etc…

I’d definitely go for the 7200.
