Macbook, which one??

Macbook, which one??

Ok, so i took on everyones thoughts from my other thread about what things are best or most needed on a new laptop. And im gettin that macbook’s are the best to go for. So now im thinking that maybe selling my Pioneer CDJ1000MK2’s and selling the replacement laptop im due to get for my broken one could possibly fund a macbook pro  plus i got a xmas bonus from work so there’s a good chance i could maybe afford one now. So i need advice on which one to go for? ive seen 2 one on ebay and one is a reconditioned one from pc world, here’s the 2 links to those, whats your thoughts on buying a 2nd hand one or a recon one? would you? wouldnt you? all advice is greatly appreciated and im sorry for another thread but i felt with this one being specifically about macbooks i may get some more feedback and help as most of you seem to favour them.

Depends on how much the eBay one will go for.

The PC World has warranty which is a god send if theres a malfunction.

Either of them is powerful enough.

I think that warranty of Applecare is really important.

If you decide on the one on ebay you need to make sure it comes with the physical software discs that they’re listing it comes with. Otherwise if you want to clear the hard drive and start from fresh, which I would do if I was buying a used laptop, you won’t be able to reinstall that software.

I’ve bought an iMac, MBP, two iPhones, and and iPod touch refurb from Apple.

thought there would have been more feedback on this subject as everyone seems to have em lol, been to look at them in the shop before and the 13" one doesnt seem too small, but the 15" seems spot on  let me know your point of view to which one you have, this is a lot of cash to splash so i wanna know as much as possible so i choose the right one and will be happy with it, the last thing i wanna do is buy one then few months down the linbe think damn i shoulda got the other one!!

Why not try the clearance page on the Apple site? That’s where I got my current-gen MBP for £850 with a full warranty.

apple store is the way to go esp. with the refurb stuff.

If you chose to pick it up from Ebay or such a website there is no way that I would recommend you buying one without apple care.

ive gone off the idea of buyinf 2nd hand from ebay, id rather spend a few quid more and get one i know will be ok and comes with some warranty

Would u think a refurbished 17" macbook pro from pc world would be ok? it comes with a years warranty and i can also purchase the apple care for it from apple themselves for when that 1st 12 months runs out

I wouldn’t buy anything from PC World unless I really had to. But that’s just because I hate them.

Just get one from apple, defo your best bet.

Or these guys… Jigsaw

imo 15" is what you want and core duo is ample. If you can afford it get i5 whatever, but realistically core duo is fine

cant wait now, i opted for the 17" cos i thought it was excellent value for money and i wont be just using it for Djing as i dont do giggs no more so i thought the bigger screen would be an excellent choice all round.

I was just typing you and answer to your email mate !!!

No worries… glad you got fixed up mate. You wont regret a Mac.

Now you really are Paul MAC… see what i did there..

Haha. does that one sound ok to you Karlos? ive done nothing but speak to people (friends) apple helplines all afternoon, driving my mrs mad lol, it comes as it would new resealed with everthing new in it, all software dvd’s etc, 12 months apple warranty and im going to purchase the Apple care plan for i think £200 so im then covered for 3 years

Yeah mate thats more than ample. Dont sweat all these i5 and i7 Macs. Your C2D is more than emough… it will FLY dude…

You can get 1 year Applecare with the mac and then buy the next 2 years when the first year is up. Saves you £200 now but you have to buy it before it runs out next year. Apple will ring you near the time. Thats what ive done every time i buy a Mac. I never buy the 3 years in one go.

these refurbs are excellent. You got no worries mate.

Cool, yeah i was speaking to a girl in the apple shop who seemed to know her stuff, and she said with that spec and with the way a mac runs with the operating system it will be really powerful and quick to, and i suppose coming from a acer laptop (even tho this has an i3) it will be mega quick compared to anything ive had.

Yeah good choice, that thing will absolutely handle anything you throw at it.

I have an old 13.3 with 2.4ghz and 2gb ram and run Traktor, VDJ with video and Logic all with no problems, so that Pro will piss it.

thanks dude  thats what i wanted to hear  seems ive made a descent decision

That made me laugh so hard. I love it cus thats a saying that i say/hear a lot where i live.

Me: “will we get there in time”
Mate: “yeah we’ll piss it”
