Mapping S4 MK3 preview button to load track in decks?
So I’m pretty much where I want to be with my mapping in terms of track preview and preview controls. The last part of the puzzle is assigning the preview play button (next to the browser scroll/push knob) to load tracks into decks A/B and B/D. I can set the button to load in to A or B easily enough, but when I do the same for C/D, trying to load into C/D also loads into A/B. I’m guessing it’s because the mapping is Deck Common. I tried borrowing an idea from a similar mapping on another controller where the 2nd condition is deck flavor but it still doesn’t seem to work.
I feel like I’m really close, can anyone help? How can I make the S4 MK3 preview play button load into only 1 deck?
I attached TSI for you (See att). Download, unzip, install and look how I mapped it.
It should give you basic idea - involves two modifiers mapped to Deck Select buttons and four “Load Selected” commands mapped to the “Preview” buttons.
Following is little illustration with all commands involved (I also left some comments)
Fantastic, thanks Stewe, greatly appreciated! Sorry for the late reply, for some reason it went into junk.
I’ll download it and get it working over the weekend.
Beautiful, works perfectly! As a bit of a noob at this it gave me a few ‘a-ha!’ moments, thanks.
Everyone has their own workflow but this really does seem more intuitive and less fiddly.
browser knob - up/down current list
push browser knob - load to preview player
shit+browser knob - scroll through track playing in preview player
preview play button - loads current list track to selected deck
I’d like to use the star button to rotate through the favorites list but can only use inc/dec (I wish there was a way to rotate/loop menus).
The incremental part works fine but when I made a simple shift modifier for the decremental part, on the A/C it only moves down one slot from the top then stops and in B/D doesn’t move dec at all.
I’ve tried dis/enabling override but no difference…any ideas?
Just that I forget when I’m in TT mode (same with cue points and loops I think, right?) and I go to use them then when I release things are messed up and sound bad…just seems like counter-intuitive GUI…if you can’t use them they shouldn’t be on.
Nope, tested it many times, that’s why I was asking. Everything is up to date in Native Access and no mappings that should interfere at all…the only extras I have are v simple and the couple of bits you helped me with. I found a couple of threads on the NI forum saying the same thing.
