Maschine Mapping Capabilities

Maschine Mapping Capabilities

Would I. Be able to make the banks control diff decks…

for ex I click bank A and all 16 pads become designated for deck A and all the knobs also designated

Then click bank B and all 16 pads become designated for deck B and all the knobs also designated to deck B

Would this be possible??

and can the maschine control decks c & d and my cdjs deck a & b???

very interested to see the answer to this, as i’ve been wondering the same thing

yea i know this would be a big buying point for me..

Yes you can in fact the tsi I use does exactly that, its way better than the stock one that comes with it.

It was made by one of the NI product specialist (DJ Endo). Heres the link to his tutotial video on how it works and the direct download link:

This is totally possible with modifiers.
Button A sets modifiers 1=1, 2=0, 3=0, 4=0
Button B sets modifiers 1=0, 2=1, 3=0, 4=0
Button C sets modifiers 1=0, 2=0, 3=1, 4=0
Button D sets modifiers 1=0, 2=0, 3=0, 4=1

.. or something similar

You need to ‘clear’ the other modifiers to 0 because otherwise pressing B after A sets 2 modifiers = total confusion!!

Please correct me if im wrong

Before purchasing my VCI I used my Maschine with the stock mapping. It was a lot more fun than using just a keyboard, but I always missed the EQ. This mapping looks well thought out and gives you a bunch more features, but still no EQ… Has anyone come out with a mapping that has this as well, or would it just be too hard with the encoders bouncing all over the place?

Would I be able to switch functions of the knobs as I would change banks?

Ex bank A and the 3 knobs by note repeat would control volume filter and gain…

Aw man this is awesome

Very good videos there. Def. gave me some more respect for the maschine.

Great info, definitely much more interested in the maschine now!

now should i get it academic or normal? (btw, i am a student)

I would get the normal version if you can, since you’re not able to resell the educational version. However, if you don’t think you’ll ever want to sell it and aren’t planning on using it for commercial purposes (or at least not ones big enough for NI to notice lol) then I think it’s about a hundred bucks cheaper for the edu version. The NI rep I was emailing back and forth with assured me that the versions are exactly the same in terms of functionality, just that you can’t ever transfer the license once it’s used for the edu one.

well i got the normal for 500 so ill just get that… thanks for the info FascistDonut

i was actually thinkin of replacing my cdjs with x1’s -_-

Sorry to jack a thread but I’ve got a question and since theres so many maschine threads floating about recently I didn’t wanna start another one

When using Maschine with traktor, when I move a knob in the traktor software with my mouse, should it not also update on the displays of the maschine? Is this possible? Cause if it isn’t…thats a huge drawback…I was planning on using two knob pages to control FX 1 and 2 and then FX 3 and 4

Right now its not working

The pad banks A- H only control the pads. There are also another 2 buttons used to switch the top knobs and buttons. The 3 knobs on the side are not affected by the change of banks. You don’t need modifiers to change pad banks, it’s built into the hardware.

So I would need modifiers to switch those 3 knobs?

I really haven’t dug deep into modifiers but my guess is yes you can create a modifier to act as a shift key for the knobs.

Can someone elaborate on how to use a modifier?
